Field Study - Visit #3
Other Information -
Date - October 12, 2025
Time - 5:10
Present Climate Conditions - Sunny for the rest of the day, wind gusts up to 15mph.
Temperature - 66f
Length of Day - 11 hours, 11 minutes
Organisms felt/smelled/heard - I heard insects, and some birds. I also saw a turkey, and I saw a squirrel climbing a tree.
Changes since last visit - I noticed that the swamp seemed a little bit wetter than it has been this summer. I also noticed that some of the leaves were starting to turn a little yellow, and some are already red.
Stewardship - Recently, and over the summer I have seen a lot of deer out at very odd times (In the middle of the day). I think they are looking for food for the families, partly because of the drought, and partly because they seem overpopulated this year. Other animals have also been acting weird. Squirrels seem more territorial, and we even saw some coyotes which we almost never see. This shows stewardship because the animals are trying to take care of themselves, and their families.

Great descriptions and good pics. Start watching for patterns in the color change and leaf fall!
